Abstract
This presentation compares the rates of breastfeeding reported by mothers in the 'Time Use Survey of New Mothers' (TUSNM) with those in 'Growing Up in Australia: the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children' (LSAC). It describes the two studies and the participants, and features charts comparing weekly time spent in child care, emotional care, breastfeeding, play, and personal activities. The authors stress the importance of interactive time, such as breast feeding, on child development.
