This document features slides from a presentation on how neighbourhoods influence child development. Based on data from 'Growing Up in Australia: the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children' (LSAC), the authors examine the pathways of influence of neighbourhood social processes on children's mental health from couple families, and how family factors mediate neighbourhood social processes. The slides outline neighbourhood socioeconomic status and social and emotional outcomes for children, varying models of influence, the sample of preschool children from couple households, residential mobility, and multilevel path models.
