This paper is aimed at guiding the development of the migration module of the
Australian Population and Policy Simulation Model (APPSIM). It examines the
international experience in modelling migration flows and stocks within dynamic
microsimulation models and makes recommendations for a suitable modelling
approach for APPSIM, given the goals of the project and the data and resources
available.
