Abstract
Growing Up in Australia: the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) is a longitudinal study following 2 cohorts of children - infants born in 2003-2004 and preschool children born in 1999-2000. The study investigates the impact of the family and social environment on child development and well-being, to identify opportunities for early intervention and prevention strategies. This presentation provides an overview of LSAC for the first and second waves, and outlines the Consortium Advisory Group, broad research questions, methodology, sources of information, response rate, sample characteristics, and comparison with the general population.
